P-Synch adds RSA SecurID token managementJune 2, 2000
Calgary, Alberta, Canada
M-Tech, the leader in total password management technology, today announced general availability of RSA SecurID PIN management features to P-Synch. Organizations that use SecurID token cards for strong two factor authentication can now empower their users to perform the following self-service functions:
- Set their SecurID/ACE accounts to 'New PIN' mode
- Initialize or change the PIN number for their tokens
- Temporarily enable or disable their security tokens
- Enable and disable emergency access mode for their SecurID/ACE accounts
Any combination of these functions can be made available to users, after they have authenticated with a network password or by answering a set of personal questions.
This new functionality supports every type of SecurID token, including cards, key fobs and soft ID tokens. It will substantially reduce the help desk workload in organizations with large SecurID token deployment.
"More and more of our customers are using strong two-factor authentication as a means of uniquely identifying both remote and internal users" stated Idan Shoham, M-Tech's Director of Technology.
"P-Synch already allowed users to manage their network passwords after authenticating with a SecurID passcode. This new module gives users complementary functionality: managing their SecurID tokens after authenticating with a password or personal questions and answers."
P-Synch is a total password management solution that can: synchronize user passwords across all systems and platforms; enforce enterprise-wide password strength policies; allow support staff to reset passwords on every system, with no special administrative rights; allow authenticated users to reset their own forgotten passwords. P-Synch reduces support costs while improving network security.
