Fortis, Inc. Purchases the P-Synch Password Management SystemCalgary, Alberta

M-Tech Mercury Information Technology, Inc. today announced that Fortis, Inc., a financial services company that, through its operating companies and affiliates, has built leadership positions in a number of specialty insurance market segments in the U.S, purchased M-Tech's P-Synch product in December 2000 and is currently deploying the software to approximately 11,000 employees at company sites within the United States.
The software will manage passwords on NT, NetWare, Unix, CA-TopSecret, RACF, Lotus Notes, MS-SQL, Oracle, and Sybase; The Tivoli Problem Management system will also be integrated with P-Synch. M-Tech assisted with the mainframe installation, and will provide on-going support to Fortis, Inc. as required.

P-Synch supports strong authentication using a wide range of tokens, biometrics and an open architecture as well as inexpensive question-and-answer profiles. This makes it suitable for both corporate users and e-Commerce deployment.
