Support.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPRT), the leading provider of support infrastructure software, and M-Tech Mercury Information Technology Inc., the leading provider of total password management solutions, today announced a strategic alliance to deliver password management capabilities integrated into Support.com's support infrastructure. Support.com will integrate password management software powered by M-Tech's market leading P-Synch product into its core support infrastructure software offering.
"In today's challenging economic landscape, companies need technologies that reduce operating costs while improving the ability of their employees and customers to access critical information needed to work effectively. The ability to proactively resolve mundane, time-consuming technical tasks can significantly impact an organization's operating costs, and free staff to focus on real business initiatives," said Bruce Mowery, vice president of marketing at Support.com.
As an integrated component of Support.com's support infrastructure, P-Synch technology will benefit from Support.com's patented SmartIssue technology to automatically gather relevant information about a users system, environment and deliver personalized service as needed. With this personalized information, support specialists have the knowledge they need to quickly and effectively resolve problems and reduce escalations to the more expensive second level support personnel.
As part of the strategic alliance Support.com and M-Tech will deliver an interface between Support.com's support infrastructure and P-Synch, M-Tech's full-featured password management solution. This will enable companies to quickly deploy an integrated solution that extends Support.com's solution to deliver self-service password management capabilities with complete enterprise wide password synchronization, and assisted reset capabilities on more than 60 mission critical platforms. By implementing the full-featured P-Synch product, organizations can reduce password-related incidents to the support center by more than 85 percent.
"Password problems that prevent access to business systems is a common occurrence among millions of both experienced and novice users within an organization, which results in significant downtime and productivity loss. Password management solutions such as those developed by M-Tech, along with support automation technologies, like those offered by Support.com, can quickly resolve such problems and dramatically improve a company's bottom line," added Gideon Shoham, CEO of M-Tech.
