CLEARWATER, Fla., and CALGARY, Alberta
September 26, 2001
OpenNetwork Technologies®, a developer of e-business security software, and M-Tech Mercury Information Technology Inc., the leader in enterprise password-management technology, today announced they have agreed to integrate OpenNetwork's DirectorySmart™ role-based Web access control security platform and M-Tech's P-Synch password-management solution to allow e-businesses to extend Web security and password management into extranet environments.
The integration enables e-businesses working with various systems to easily extend security management, password synchronization and reset capabilities across the enterprise into extranet environments. With the DirectorySmart/P-Synch combination, e-businesses relying on this solution can leverage their existing investments in Windows 2000 and reduce the cost of ownership of their Web access management systems.
"Forgotten passwords are not only one of the top-10 IT problems, they also pose a serious security risk," said Bob Worner, OpenNetwork's senior vice president of product engineering. "Through OpenNetwork's partnership with M-Tech, e-businesses using Microsoft Active Directory will get the highest levels of password management capabilities and comprehensive access control and delegated administration capabilities across their internal networks as well as outside to Internet-facing applications."
Idan Shoham, M-Tech's CTO, noted: "P-Synch and DirectorySmart have established a leadership position, successfully integrating Active Directory in extranet environments. Together, OpenNetwork and M-Tech will enable e-businesses to establish the highest levels of security while reducing their costs in heterogeneous environments."
