SAIC takes advantage of P-Synch's zero desktop deployment to strengthen password security
M-Tech Mercury Information Technology, Inc. today announced that Science Applications International Corporations (SAIC), has purchased an enterprise license for the P-Synch total password management system for 45,000 internal users.
SAIC required a password management solution that could be implemented with zero desktop software deployment. They also chose P-Synch because once password synchronization is complete, passwords are not retained locally. P-Synch will enforce SAIC's security policy across all platforms, provide a centralized password reset facility for support analysts, and allow users to manage SecurID tokens.
P-Synch will initially synchronize passwords on Microsoft Windows and Lotus Dominos platforms, adding Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and SAP R/3 in phase 2. The number of users is expected to expand to 70-80,000 in two to three years.
SAIC will also implement ID-Synch, also a part of M-Tech's identity management suite, to streamline account provisioning.
"We are very pleased to have been selected by SAIC for password and identity management," said Idan Shoham, M-Tech Chief Information Technology Officer. "P-Synch is consistently selected by leading technology companies, such as SAIC, for both internal and external application. Leading technology companies clearly see the advantage of P-Synch and ID-Synch over alternative solutions."
SAIC is the largest employee-owned research and engineering company in the USA, providing information technology, systems integration and eSolutions to commercial and government customers. SAIC engineers and scientists work to solve complex technical problems in national security, homeland defense, energy, the environment, telecommunications, health care and transportation. With annual revenues of $6.1 billion, SAIC and its subsidiaries, including Telcordia Technologies, have more than 40,000 employees at offices in more than 150 cities worldwide.
