M-Tech and OTG now offering P-Synch clients telephone-based password reset

August 20, 2002
Calgary, Alberta and Ottawa, Ontario

P-Synch meeting needs of diverse global organizations

M-Tech and OTG have expanded their existing technology partnership and are now offering an integrated solution for self-service password reset via telephone, anywhere, anytime. The ID-Telephony interface will enable users to enter numerical answers to personalized questions on their phone keypad in order to authenticate themselves. Companies with many remote users now have a solution to their password problems that integrates voice access with P-Synch's superior technology.

M-Tech clients can also upgrade the solution to include OTG's biometric voice verification software. This software will allow M-Tech's existing clients to not only expand their current password reset service to 24x7 access, but will add the convenience and security of voice-based biometric technology.

ID-Telephony runs on a Windows NT or Windows 2000 server, and includes all necessary software and M-Tech can supply appropriate dialogic voice interface cards to handle each organization's anticipated volume of calls.

The interface works by individual users dialing into the ID-Telephony system, where they are prompted to key in a unique numeric identifier, followed by a series of validation questions, all of which are verified by comparison to the profile saved on the P-Synch server. Once the user is authenticated, the new password is spoken to the user. Alternatively, this password reset process can be upgraded to the use of OTG's biometric voice verification technology, and users can be authenticated simply by speaking into the telephone, and verified via comparison to their stored model voice print.

These solutions will help organizations combat the overwhelming expense of Help Desk operating costs, by further simplifying automated password reset, and offer an extremely rapid Return on Investment.
