Cessna Aircraft Company Deploys M-Tech's Identity Management Solution
Leading Aircraft Company Recognizes Significant Cost Savings, Increased User Productivity and Enhanced Security with M-Tech
Calgary, AB - January 14, 2004 -- M-Tech Information Technology, Inc., a leading provider of identity management solutions, today announced that Cessna Aircraft Company, a subsidiary of Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT), has purchased P-Synch, M-Tech's password management solution to reduce help desk support and administration costs, increase user productivity and enhance corporate security.
Cessna Aircraft began searching for a password management solution to help reduce the over 44,000 password reset calls per year that the help desk was handling. After extensive evaluation, Cessna Aircraft selected P-Synch based on its proven track record in the marketplace, comprehensive functionality and ease of use to ensure successful adoption by employees. P-Synch was deployed across the Cessna enterprise on over 20 different target systems using connectors included with the product, in a phased rollout by department. Deployment of P-Synch has resulted in an 80% reduction in password related calls to the help desk for Cessna.
P-Synch has made the transition to a password management solution easier for end users, by simplifying the process of synchronizing and changing passwords across all systems and applications. With P-Synch, Cessna employees are no longer required to remember long lists of passwords or waste valuable time waiting for the help desk to reset their passwords. In addition, P-Synch's ability to enforce password strength rules has increased security for Cessna.
"P-Synch has worked very well in our organization, while gaining a tremendous amount of user satisfaction. This tool has eliminated the burden of passwords from our customers and it frees up helpdesk resources to allow them to focus on other issues," said Marc Sumner, Director of Infrastructure Support Services for Cessna.
P-Synch is part of M-Tech's identity management solution, a comprehensive suite of products that includes ID-Synch for user provisioning and access management.
"Cessna Aircraft was clearly looking to realize the benefits of implementing a password management solution by increasing their enterprise security plus saving real dollars at the help desk. P-Synch has accomplished these objectives and allowed Cessna to move their identity management initiative in progressive and innovative directions," said Robert Miller vice president of marketing at M-Tech. "They are another great example of a company deploying automated identity management solutions to reduce support costs while improving user productivity and network security."
