The Salvation Army, UK Selects M-Tech Identity Management Solutions

M-Tech's Technology Streamlines System Migration

Calgary, AB - February 28, 2006 - M-Tech Information Technology, Inc., a leading provider of identity management solutions, today announced that the Salvation Army, UK has selected M-Tech's Identity Management solution, as part of its strategy to reduce help desk call volume.

The Salvation Army, UK has over 800 corps and centres across the UK and Ireland. It is the largest non-government provider of social care in the UK and manages such programs as child and elderly care, homelessness projects and addiction rehabilitation.

It is vital for Salvation Army employees to have uninterrupted access to IT applications, including e-mail, to support the efficient operation of essential social services.

While migrating from Microsoft Exchange to Lotus Domino for e-mail, the Salvation Army, UK was anticipating a major spike in user call volume, as existing Active Directory access would not work on the new system. The combined increase in call volume and call duration would have a significant impact on IT cost, staffing requirements and service to users.

Salvation Army UK IT management realized that automation was the answer. By synchronizing Lotus Notes and Active Directory, user service would be improved, and users would experience fewer problems in the first place. By empowering users to utilize self service functions, call volume is further reduced.

The Salvation Army, UK considered multiple products and selected M-Tech solutions on the basis of functionality, easy deployment, cost and usability.

"We required a solution that would work with our new e-mail system and provide the same easy user experience as before, says Christian Cundall, Head of Messaging Services, Salvation Army (UK Territory). "We selected M-Tech for its ability to integrate seamlessly into our system and for its strong authentication rules. If we didn't install M-Tech Solutions, user frustration would increase, likely resulting in lax security," he added.

Many not-for-profit organizations use M-Tech's provisioning, compliance, password management and the other M-Tech identity management solutions. Examples: Baylor College of Medicine, Canadian Blood Services, Centura Health, Childrens Hospital of Wisconsin, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Health Alliance Medical Plans, Independence Blue Cross and Princeton University.
