Hitachi ID Systems Announces Two Key Channel Executive Appointments

Key channel positions to accelerate channel growth

Calgary, Canada -- November 13, 2009 -- Hitachi ID Systems, a leading provider of identity and access management (IAM) solutions, is pleased to announce appointments to two key executive positions as part of its global expansion strategy.

“These positions will focus on leveraging both the Hitachi brand and global, strategic partners to expand Hitachi ID's reach into the global identity and access management market,” says Gideon Shoham, CEO. “Hitachi ID's channel program supplements our strong relationships with global IT outsourcers as well as an extensive network of resellers and integrators.”

Tom Halle joins as Vice President, Channel and Alliances, responsible for the expansion of Hitachi ID's strategic channel sales through BMC™. Jay Nelson joins the executive team as Vice President, Channel Strategy, responsible for new partner development and overall channel strategy.

Tom is a 27-year veteran of the high-tech industry - with eighteen years as a technologist and successful entrepreneur, and nine years as a leading executive of complex commercial and technical alliances. He has created ground breaking partnerships with companies such as IBM, Microsoft, Nokia, Motorola, VMware, BMC, Unisys, EDS, CSC, Siebel, and Symantec, delivering new products and new customer value, driving into new markets, and generating hundreds of millions of dollars in new revenue.

Jay is a senior channel professional with 18 years of experience in channel marketing, strategic alliances, product marketing and sales strategy. He has built channels and strategic relationships as well as consulted with major technology vendors on go-to-market and channel development strategies, new product introductions, and sales and marketing through partners like VMware, NETApp and Dell. Jay is an MBA graduate of the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree specializing in Information Systems from the University of Calgary.
