Definition of Ftp

Ftp is the file transfer protocol. It is based on the TCP/IP network protocols. Ftp allows a user on one machine to send files to or retrieve files from an Ftp server. It uses User ID / Password Credentials, sent as Plaintext over the network, with no Encryption, for Authentication.
