Definition of GINA

GINA refers to the graphical identification and authentication library, which is a pluggable part of Microsoft Windows' WinLogon process. GINA provides secure Authentication and interactive logon services, by providing logon sessions for users after collecting their Credentials.

Credential Providers have replaced GINA on Windows Vista.
