M-Tech, Mercury Information Technology Inc., the industry leader in password management software technology, today announced that Joseph E. Seagram and Sons has purchased a license for the P-Synch Total Password Management system.
Seagram, known globally as a world leader in the entertainment, recreation, and spirits businesses, operates on 6 different continents. Seagram's wide-spread and diversified operations required a very scalable and robust password management system to support their worldwide organization. These requirements led to the selection of P-Synch as the optimal password management solution. Seagram has implemented the P-Synch transparent synchronization feature to decrease help desk calls and to decrease the total number of password related incidents. When a Seagram user changes their primary network password, it is automatically and transparently propagated to all other systems where the user has a password.
P-Synch incorporates a number of other features that uniquely allow support for large organizations with worldwide operations:
- High availability: The P-Synch Password Management server incorporates DNS round robin load balancing and automatic failover software. In the event that a P-Synch server is unable to respond due to a hardware or network failure, a replicated server will automatically be used to process the request.
- Maintenance of user lists: P-Synch actively maintains a database of all user accounts across all systems. This allows it to immediately identify any target systems where a user has an account, resulting in the fastest possible password resets.
- User Aliasing: P-Synch is designed to automatically manage passwords across all platforms for users with multiple, inconsistent login names.
- User interface: The P-Synch user interface is easily customizable to support any corporate GUI style and multiple languages, and has been used by customers in English, French, Dutch, German and other languages.
