Australian Government chooses P-Synch

February 1, 1998
Calgary, Alberta Canada,

M-Tech is pleased to announce that, after extensively testing a variety of Password Synchronization and Single Sign On solutions, the Ministry for Planning (Western Australia) has confirmed their purchase of P-Synch.

The Ministry for Planning was operating a complex heterogeneous network, that made password management a time-consuming and costly process for both end-users and administrators. The Ministry was in search of a program that would not only synchronize passwords, so that users had just one value to remember - but would also cut down on the time spent fielding password related calls for helpdesk operators and systems administrators.

M-Tech, the developer of the P-Synch password management software, is a successful Canadian computer security products and services company. P-Synch supports a diverse range of platforms and was designed not only to simplify password management, but also to enhance overall network security.

The implementation of P-Synch in Western Australia illustrates the versatility afforded by online distribution. The Ministry of Planning was able to test the software and take advantage of the extensive technical support offered by M-Tech, without being hindered by their geographic separation. According to the Ministry, "The original distribution of P-Synch did not exactly fit our environment. During the testing and implementation phase we submitted numerous change requests to M-Tech and many support queries. These were always responded to very quickly, often receiving updates the next day."
