Privileged User Management
Privileged user management is one of several equivalent terms that refers to privileged access management. This particular variant is somewhat misleading, because it suggests that it is the user IDs with elevated privileges that are being managed. In truth, it is access to existing accounts (user IDs) that is managed (for example, by randomizing and vaulting passwords and then controlling access to these accounts). The privileged access management products on the market today (2013) are not really designed to create, modify or delete privileged identities.
