OS/400 (iSeries) system passwords can be managed by issuing commands, such as CHGUSRPRF, from the Hitachi ID Identity and Access Management Suite server, via IBM iSeries Access for Windows, to the OS/400 server. Alternately, Hitachi ID Identity and Access Management Suite can issue the same commands over a TN5250 session. No software is installed on the OS/400 server in either case.
Hitachi ID Identity and Access Management Suite can also manage application-specific passwords on OS/400 servers, again using either IBM iSeries Access for Windows or a TN5250 session to access the appropriate panels and issue the relevant commands.
Hitachi ID Identity and Access Management Suite connectors can create, delete, enable, disable and modify OS/400 accounts on any specified OS/400 server. It creates new OS/400 accounts by cloning existing ones, copying and adjusting native attributes in the process.
Native password changes made on iSeries (AS/400) systems can trigger transparent password synchronization, through insertion of a suitable exit program.
